Vanlife Begins
Today has been a bittersweet day. The Suburban had begun to show its age this summer and rather than spend a ton of money to keep it going I decided to trade it off on a new project - 2015 Ram ProMaster 2500 ecoDiesel.
I am very sad to see Jack go. It was my 2020 pandemic purchase and we covered it into an overlanding camper. Its been all over the U.S. west coast. From SoCal to the Canadian border - the beach, mountains, and desert. Like Johnny Cash, Jack’s been everywhere.
Some 60,000 miles of adventures.
I am very sad to lose the Suburban it has become a part of the family. I had not planned on trading him on this trip but a unicorn of a van popped up while in the neighborhood and I had to pounce.
The van does not yet have a name. We will have to see what sticks. What should we name it?
The plan is to do a simple and inexpensive (budget) build just like Jack. It will have an office area, sleeping space, garage, kitchen, and simple bathroom. There will also be an electrical setup with solar on the roof.
I am sad to lose an old friend but excited for a new project and new adventures.
#VanLife has officially begun.
