Small Changes for Big Comfort

Preview

Sunday funday!

There have not been much to report this week as it has been pretty quiet - which after several weeks of chaos, I appreciate. Since learning that I will be forced to live in the moho for a bit longer than I anticipated, I have begun making things a bit more comfortable for Ruby and I.

The changes aren’t drastic—mostly just some organizing and unpacking to create a more secure, safe, and less chaotic space. I pulled a few items from storage, but I also had to do some local shopping and hit up Amazon for a few essentials.

One of the things I had to do was remove the mustache from the rear bumper of Sheldon the RV. I just could not take it anymore. We also got some laundry done this week, a well as general cleaning and organizing.

As for the items I picked up, I upgraded our security cameras, picked up a 30-amp electrical cord, a new front door seal, an indoor/outdoor thermometer, and fresh bed sheets are just a few items. I’m still waiting on a few more items to arrive, including a kit to charge the power station at an EV charging station.

I’ve included Amazon affiliate links for some of the products I’ve been happy with so far. When you use our links to make a purchase, we receive a small commission, so thank you for your support!

I’ve been a fan of Wyze Cameras since their first version many years ago. They’ve helped secure my homes, and I’m now upgrading to their latest v4 cameras. These beauties are IP66 weather-resistant for both indoor and outdoor use, feature a motion-activated spotlight, deliver 2.5K QHD video quality, and have enhanced color night vision, plus internal and SD recording options. I’ve tried other brands, but I always come back to Wyze. Their product quality is fantastic, and the app interface is top-notch. I can’t wait to try out their doorbell as soon as it arrives!

The Camco 50-foot extension cord has been a great addition, though it’s a little stiff in the cold weather—nothing unexpected there. Once the weather warms up, I plan to replace the existing hard-wired MoHo power cord with this new one by cutting off the female end and hard-wiring it into the coach. In the meantime, I’m using it almost daily to charge up the power station.

One item I was hesitant about was the Portable Desk Fan. No matter the outside temperature, I tend to sleep hot, and I can usually be found with a fan blowing on my face at night. Since I didn’t have a fan in the MoHo, I found it difficult to sleep without one. I decided to take a chance on a new brand and design, and I’m happy to report that I haven’t been disappointed! It features a 5000mAh internal battery that charges via USB-C and runs all night like a champ. Plus, it has a front display showing the remaining battery life and fan speed. You can easily adjust the speed with a dial, allowing you to set it anywhere from 1 to 100. Highly recommended!

With another storm on the horizon for the mountains, we’ll be sticking around the Klamath Basin for a few more weeks. I’m planning some new adventures with the MoHo in late March while we wait for Georgia to get repaired in San Diego. Until then, we’ll be working on the MoHo, possibly tackling some interior painting and a bedroom headboard project.

When Mother Nature allows us to hit the road in Sheldon, where should we go? Let us know in the comments below!
