Rain in San Diego?

Preview

It rained today in San Diego—or at least, that’s what the weather app claimed. In reality, calling it rain might be a stretch; it was more like the sky decided to test out its mister setting. Just enough moisture to dot the windshield and make the air smell fresh, but not enough to justify an umbrella.

For those of us used to life on the road, it’s funny how weather shifts become part of the adventure—sometimes you’re dodging real storms, and other times you’re chuckling at a drizzle that wouldn’t even qualify as a warm-up in the Pacific Northwest.

But that’s the beauty of travel: every place has its own version of “weather,” and today San Diego reminded me that even a heavy mist can feel like an event when the sun is usually the star of the show.

And here’s a tip—days like this are perfect for exploring without the usual crowds. A little mist keeps the tourists indoors, which means you get a quieter, more relaxed side of the city all to yourself. Sadly, I was not able to adventure today.
