A Long Detour

Preview

Ruby and I are still moving through this long detour — one day, one step at a time.

But even in the hard moments, a few good things have come our way lately, and I want to say thank you.

To everyone who has checked in, donated, shared advice, or simply offered a kind word… your support this week has meant more than you know. Thanks to you, we’re currently about 30% of the way to our goal. If you feel led to help, even a little goes a long way: Venmo: venmo.com/u/briang97603

We’re also aware that the ORN website is down — cash flow has made it tough to keep everything running — but we’re working on getting that fixed as soon as possible.

On a brighter note, I’ve stepped back into my journalistic roots.

Many of you remember when I ran Klamath Falls News. For nearly a decade, that little independent newsroom grew into something huge — tens of thousands of followers, millions reached every month, and a real community built around local news.

After closing it a few years ago, I kept the page dormant… until now.

A few days before Halloween, I quietly relaunched the brand under a new identity: HiveWire Media Group and our flagship publication, HiveWire Daily.

Where KFN focused on the Klamath Basin, HiveWire Daily now covers a wider region — Oregon, Northern California, and Washington — while keeping the same grounded, trustworthy storytelling at its core.

In just a few weeks, HiveWire Daily has already reached 1.2 million people.

I’ve built a new website, hivewiredaily.com started offering affordable advertising options for small businesses, and begun laying the foundation for this to grow into a steady, sustainable income stream — something that supports my family and helps keep our travels going without relying solely on Open Road Nomad.

Send me a DM, if you would like to know more about this opportunity.

Thank you all for sticking with us through this chapter.

We’re not where we want to be yet… but we’re getting there. And your support is helping us move forward.
